One of my favorite cities, read on for a quick snap shot of what to see & do in Madrid!
Stay: Only You
Comfortable, chic and centrally located to many of the things I adore about Madrid. Only You is about a ten minute walk to the Plaza Mayor, with many galleries and restaurants along the way. Definitely check out their cocktail bar and lounge, it’s always buzzing with activity!
Eat: Tapas, duh!
Spain and especially Madrid is famous for tapas and the bite-sized morsels are the perfect way to sample Spanish cuisine. Start in the La Latina neighborhood and work your way around to the streets that surround Plaza Mayor. While I could happily eat my weight and nothing but jamón, I encourage you to save room, there are so many tasty bites to try!
Shop: El Rastro
Established in the middle ages, El Rastro is said to be the largest flea market in Europe! I could wonder here for days, but sadly it’s only open on Sundays, so get there early. This is the perfect place to pick up antique jewelry, handmade fans, paintings or any other little oddity your heart desires. And, when you’re done perusing this lively market, head over for some more tapas! And wine of course . . .
The Genoa is one of my go to earrings; it goes with absolutely anything and adds subtle interest to every outfit. Our wraps are always perfect for packing, since they can be worn as a necklace or a bracelet they do double duty and take up half the space.
Pack Light & Go Far!
You must also check out The Museo del Prado, for some amazing art! You are not supposed to take pictures, but clearly I could not resist!
